The Research Friction

Claude can't read the web. You end up copy-pasting messy HTML every time. Same friction, every research session.

01

Paywalls Lock You Out

Claude can't see behind paywalls. Manual paste is the only workaround.

02

Messy HTML Confuses Claude

Ads, nav, comments pollute what you paste. AI gets lost in noise.

03

Sites Are Broken

Infinite scroll, tracking, pop-ups. Static content hard to extract clean.

04

5 Minutes of Friction

Screenshot, copy, paste, cleanup. Every research session, same tax.

# How to Do Great Work

Source: paulgraham.com/greatwork.html

The first step is to decide what to

work on. The work you choose needs

to have three qualities: a natural

aptitude, a deep interest, and

scope to do great work.

Questions

Download the zip from the GitHub releases page, unzip it, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer Mode (top right), then click "Load unpacked" and select the unzipped folder. Pin the Clipped icon to your toolbar, open any article, and click it to extract. Works on Chrome, Brave, Edge, and other Chromium browsers — not Firefox or Safari.

Clipped extracts whatever is already rendered in your browser. If you can read the article (logged in, subscribed, or free), Clipped can extract it. It cannot bypass a paywall you have not already unlocked.

No. Extraction runs entirely in your browser using Mozilla Readability and Turndown — the same engine behind Firefox Reader Mode. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or tracked.

Clipped reads the DOM as currently rendered. Content already loaded when you click extracts cleanly; content that only loads on further scroll will not be included.

No signup, no login, no account. Install the extension and it works immediately.

Yes, free forever for the core extraction features — copy to clipboard, download as markdown. No trial, no credit card.
